About the Artist

Biography

Jennifer Levitt was born in Colorado in 1978 and raised just outside of Boulder on an idyllic 2.5 acres that overlooked the majestic Rocky Mountains, where she rode horses and explored nature with her younger sibling. She now resides on the south side of Denver with her husband, Brian, their two daughters, Rilen and Sofia, and their three dogs, Pippa, Rudi, and George.

Her interest in art goes back to her early childhood. But it was not until later in her life, after being diagnosed with cancer and feeling that she was given a second chance in life, that she decided to pivot directions and began to pursue art vigorously, studying at The Real Academy of Art Colorado under the watchful guidance of “Living Master” Ali Ghassan. RAAC is the only art school in Colorado certified by the Art Renewal Center (ARC) one of the world’s most respected fine art organizations.

Jen has developed a love of drawing and oil painting while focusing on Classical Realism. Artists such as William-Adolphe Bouguereau and John Singer Sargent, along with many other artists, have inspired her. She finds art meditative and enjoys drawing and oil painting, still life, and figures. It is essential to her that her art be images of ordinary people, places, and things that recapture life’s beautiful complexities and brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to the viewer that she feels when creating each piece.
